Undergraduate
September
This programme is designed to equip students with strong technical expertise, practical experience, and transferable skills for careers in sectors such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and technology. With growing demand for engineers in AI, robotics, and cybernetic systems, graduates will be well prepared to meet industry needs.
The course builds core knowledge in robotics, sensors, actuators, control systems, networking, and artificial intelligence. In the first two years, students study foundational subjects including Electronic Systems, Programming, AI, Microprocessors, Embedded Systems, and Network Engineering. In the final year, students specialise in areas such as Applied Robotics, Computer Vision, Bio-inspired AI and Security, Sensors and Actuators, or Control Systems, alongside completing an individual project tailored to their interests.
Teaching combines lectures, tutorials, and lab-based workshops, supported by blended learning through platforms such as WebLearn and Blackboard. Assessment methods include tests, exams, coursework, lab reports, case studies, posters, artifacts, and viva examinations. Each module provides clear marking criteria and comprehensive resources via the Virtual Learning Environment.
Academic Entry Requirements
In addition to the University’s standard entry criteria, applicants are expected to have:
A minimum of grades CCC at A level, or at least 96 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification (e.g. BTEC National, OCR Diploma, Advanced Diploma).
GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
Applicants with relevant qualifications or prior learning may be considered for advanced entry, available only for the September intake. For further guidance, please see our information for advanced entry applicants or contact courseenquiries@londonmet.ac.uk.
Please note: Students may be eligible for up to nine professional examination exemptions upon successful completion of specific modules. It is the student’s responsibility to complete the required modules; the University cannot guarantee exemptions if the full three-year programme is not undertaken.
English Language Requirements
All applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English. Those requiring a Student visa (formerly Tier 4) may need to provide results from a Secure English Language Test (SELT), such as IELTS Academic, in line with the University’s standard entry requirements.
For students who wish to strengthen their English skills before starting their degree, the University offers a Pre-sessional Academic English course, designed to build confidence and ensure the required proficiency is achieved.
Graduates of this programme will be well-positioned to pursue rewarding careers across a range of industries, including robotics, automation, manufacturing, aerospace, systems analysis, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. The course also provides a strong foundation for further academic study, including MSc or PhD research, and serves as a direct pathway to our MSc in Robotics with AI.
