JMC’s Diploma of Creative Arts (Acting) covers the first two trimesters of our Degree program, offering a valuable exit point for students seeking to develop foundational acting skills as a stepping stone toward further study.
The contemporary performing arts industry presents entry-level opportunities across community and fringe theatre, film and digital media, and self-generated performance projects. Fringe, community, and cooperative theatre models remain vital components of the live performance landscape. The rise of smaller, versatile venues has fostered a dynamic environment for intimate performances, innovative projects, and diverse productions. Additionally, advances in technology have broadened access to resources for film and digital media creation, while online platforms have opened new avenues for audience engagement with performance.
This course equips students with essential skills and knowledge to apply fundamental acting principles in performance, cultivate creative and collaborative production concepts, and provides a solid academic foundation to support progression into higher-level studies.

Admission Requirements

Minimum Age to Apply: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of studies.

Academic Entry Requirements: Evidence of successful completion of a Senior Secondary School certificate.

Language Requirement: Proof of English proficiency is required, with a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.0 and no individual band score below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification.
