Begin your audio journey with a deep dive into software-based synthesis, learning the fundamentals of editing, arranging, and mixing within digital audio workstations. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with mixing consoles and signal processors, while developing the technical skills required to record, overdub, and mix a band in a professional studio environment.
Throughout your studies, you'll put your knowledge into practice by collaborating with fellow students on real recording sessions. Learn to:
Use multi-microphone techniques to capture live performances
Overdub additional instruments onto a multi-track recording
Apply industry-standard workflows used in studios around the world
This immersive, practical experience provides a strong foundation in studio production and gives you a competitive edge as you prepare to enter the professional audio industry.
Minimum Age:
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age at the time of course commencement.
Academic Entry Requirements:
One of the following is required for admission:
Completion of Year 12 in the Australian school system; OR
An equivalent qualification with a Senior Secondary Certificate pass in General English; OR
A recognised qualification such as:
Certificate IV (or higher) – for Bachelor degree applicants
Certificate III (or higher) – for Diploma applicants
OR applicants who are 21 years of age or older may also be considered for entry based on relevant experience or alternate qualifications.
English Language Proficiency Requirements:
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
IELTS Academic: Overall score of 6.0, with no band below 5.5
TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 73, with a minimum writing score of 18
PTE Academic: Overall score between 50–57
Cambridge English (C1 Advanced): Overall score of 169
