Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time the course begins.
Applicants must be able to complete a work placement in one of the following settings:
Aged care
Home and community care
Disability care
Community service organisation
Some applicants may be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment or attend an enrolment interview before acceptance.
Applicants must have:
Completed Australian Year 11 or an equivalent qualification, or
Completed a Certificate III or higher from an Australian institution.
Applicants whose first language is not English must have:
An overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent, or
A pass result in the Abbey College Australia English entry test.

This qualification includes a mandatory work placement component of 120 hours, which must be completed in an approved aged care, community care, or disability care setting to demonstrate practical competency.
