Our LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2) prepares graduates to qualify as solicitors via the SQE route while earning a Master’s degree. The course focuses on essential knowledge and skills for SQE success and practical legal practice, including four weeks of guaranteed Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) in our Legal Advice Clinics, ensuring you are career-ready.
Course Structure – LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2)
SQE1 Preparation (60 credits)
Functioning Legal Knowledge (FLK) 1: Business Law & Practice, Legal Services, Dispute Resolution, Ethics (30 credits)
Functioning Legal Knowledge (FLK) 2: Property Practice, Wills, Solicitors’ Accounts, Criminal Practice, Ethics (30 credits)
SQE2 Preparation (30 credits)
Interviewing, Advocacy, Case & Matter Analysis, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Legal Drafting
SQE Plus (90 credits)
3 Key Practice Areas (KPAs) – choose Corporate/Commercial or Commercial/Private Client (15 credits each)
Preparation for Practice (15 credits)
Business of Law or Professional Practice Report (30 credits)
Entry & Funding Requirements – LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2)
Funding Requirements:
London campuses: Show funds for first-year tuition plus £1,334/month (up to 9 months).
Other campuses: Show funds for first-year tuition plus £1,023/month (up to 9 months).
Advance tuition payments can be deducted; living costs must be shown even if living with family; accommodation payments cannot be deducted.
Self-funded students: Funds must be in your name or a parent/guardian (legal court-appointed). Acceptable evidence: bank statements, letters from banks, or certificates of deposit.
Sponsored students: Official sponsorship from governments, the British Council, international organisations, companies, universities, or independent schools.
Language Requirement: Minimum IELTS 6.5 (6.0 in each component).
