The LLM in International Business and Commercial Law is an interdisciplinary programme. It’s jointly delivered by Chester Law School and the Business School.It is designed to equip students with legal and business knowledge for the global marketplace: understanding commercial law, dispute resolution in international settings, sustainable business practices, legal theory, common law systems, etc.There is an emphasis not just on academic study but on skills that enhance employability (research, critical thinking, analysis, legal theory, and real-world relevance via law clinics, pro bono, etc.)

Graduates of this LLM are expected to be able to:
Apply advanced legal knowledge in international business / commercial law, including understanding commercial contracts across borders and dispute resolution.
Critically analyze legal theory and common law concepts, and understand how laws develop in different jurisdictions.
Conduct independent legal research, managing a large-scale project or dissertation, and produce original and well-argued findings.
Develop business-aware legal reasoning, including sustainable business practices and the interplay between business strategy and legal constraints.
Enhance employability through exposure to practical legal skills (mooting, clinics, pro bono work), as well as improved communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
