The PTE Academic Preparation Course is designed to support international students in preparing for both the General and Academic modules of the Pearson Test of English (PTE). This course provides targeted instruction in examination techniques and focuses on developing the essential language skills required to achieve a competitive PTE score.
The program integrates independent learning and academic research skills to familiarise students with the expectations of tertiary-level education in Australia. Each student receives a personalised study plan tailored to their specific areas of improvement, ensuring a focused and goal-oriented learning experience.
Study Mode: Full-time
Minimum Enrolment: 4 weeks (for stand-alone course)
Timetable:
Classes are conducted from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, delivered over 2.5 days per week. This schedule includes a combination of face-to-face instruction, self-directed study, assessment completion, and research and revision activities.
Academic Requirements
While there are no formal educational prerequisites for this course, it is expected that most applicants will have successfully completed Year 10 (or an equivalent qualification).
Minimum Age Requirement
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of enrolment.
English Language Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency to effectively participate in and benefit from the course. Placement into the program requires one of the following:
A satisfactory result on the KCBT-administered ELICOS placement test, or
Evidence of existing English proficiency, such as a valid score from an internationally recognised English language test, or completion of an ELICOS course at a level deemed equivalent by KCBT.
