Develop your music writing, music technology, and live performance skills under the guidance of leading educators and industry professionals. This program provides weekly one-on-one private lessons on your principal instrument or voice, designed to elevate your technical proficiency, musicality, and performance artistry. Your studies will culminate in a major final project, which may include elements of recorded performance as well as a live recital, showcasing your growth as a performing artist.
Throughout the course, you will have opportunities to collaborate with students across creative disciplines—from composing music for apps, games, or film soundtracks, to working on real-world industry projects with peers in animation, audio, design, and game development. These experiences help you build a powerful creative network that will support your career beyond graduation.
You’ll also explore the business of music, learning how to navigate the industry, identify professional opportunities, and promote your artistic work. The program covers essential skills in multi-platform performance, recording and mixing techniques, ensemble arranging, and repertoire development. As part of your final year, you will undertake a specialist performance project, which includes staging a major live show to a public audience.
To gain entry into the Bachelor of Music Performance, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must be at least 17 years of age at the time of application.
Applicants must satisfy one of the following academic pathways:
Completion of Year 12 in the Australian school system, OR
Equivalent qualification with a Senior Secondary Certificate pass in General English, OR
Completion of a recognised qualification:
Certificate IV (or higher) – for Bachelor degree applicants
Certificate III (or higher) – for Diploma course applicants
Mature Age Entry: Applicants aged 21 years or older may be considered without meeting the above academic criteria.
International applicants (or domestic applicants with qualifications from non-English-speaking countries) must demonstrate English proficiency through one of the following:
