This qualification reflects the role of builders, site managers, and managers of small to medium-sized building enterprises. These professionals apply comprehensive knowledge of structural principles, relevant codes, standards, and legal requirements to Class 1 and 10 buildings up to two storeys, as well as Class 2 to 9 Type C constructions. They are responsible for planning and supervising safe building and construction activities, preparing and administering contracts, and ensuring the application of quality standards throughout building projects.
While building focuses on the physical construction process, site management involves overseeing the various factors influencing construction, including coordinating skilled crews (such as builders), ensuring product compliance, managing subcontracted specialised trades, and addressing site-specific conditions like weather and location.
Academic Qualifications
Applicants must have satisfactorily completed Year 12 (VCE) or an equivalent overseas qualification.
Minimum Age
All international applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application.
English Language Proficiency
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency with an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent for direct entry into the course.
