Bachelor of Arts in English Studies and Bachelor of Education in Teaching English to the Speaker of Other Languages (BA-BEd) is a dual degree program with inter/ multi/ transdisciplinary in nature. It comprises eight semesters, with courses on specialization and sub-specialization. There is a provision for major and minor course works based on the program requirements, defined by the specific program unit (department/school) to qualify for the degree. The duration of the degree is 4.5 years to 5 years based on the additional course works provision throughout the program. The program focuses on discourses of social and educational issues, and teacher preparation at KUSOED. It aims to transform the new generation by understanding the discourses of social and educational issues and promoting social justice through engaged pedagogy for future teachers and by engaging in social, literary and educational issues for futuristic citizens. The program will provide students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to effectively implement them in their social and diverse contexts. The program will also foster students' critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and ethical values as they prepare to become lifelong learners, educators and social entrepreneurs. The program allows students to combine their interests and passions with their professional goals and aspirations through dual or multi/inter/transdisciplinary options.

Eligibility
  • A minimum D+ grade in each Grade 12 subject, with a minimum CGPA of 1.8 OR
  • A minimum score of second division marks in 10+2, PCL or equivalent in any discipline.
