The BSc (Hons) Applied Biosciences program at CU Coventry provides a solid grounding in the biological and chemical sciences, including cell biology, chemistry, and physiology. The course is designed to develop your understanding of life at all levels—from chemicals and molecules to cells and organ systems—laying the foundation for a career in human health and disease.
Year 1: Core modules in biological and chemical sciences, including cell biology, chemistry, and physiology.
Year 2: Advanced study in areas such as microbiology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Year 3: Specialized modules and a final-year project, allowing you to apply your knowledge in a practical setting.
Sandwich Option: An optional 4th year incorporating a work placement or study year in a related field.
2.4 GPA or 60%, 6.0/5.5, PTE - 65/59, Gap Acceptable (2 years)
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be able to:
Understand the fundamentals of biological and chemical sciences, including cell biology, chemistry, and physiology.
Develop appropriate research and analysis techniques, alongside the ability to undertake reliable scientific research activities.
Operate, lead, and collaborate in a team to solve problems of a practical (experimental) nature and to provide appropriate solutions.
Communicate scientific information effectively, both in writing and orally.
Apply your knowledge and skills in a work placement or study year in a related field (for sandwich option).
